How many goals should I enter?

3-5 goals are recommended per performance year.

Can I copy goals?

What does “completion percentage” refer to on the goals page?

What happens if as a manager, I want to push out a goal to my entire team?

You will write a goal, and assign it to each of your reports you would like to receive it.

How does the “share goals” feature work?

When you utilize the share goals feature, you are sending one or more of your goals to another individual to view. This then gives them the option of adding that goal to their goal plan.

What is the “success criteria?” How is that different from the goal description?

Success criteria gives explanation of how you and your manager will know you have achieved the goal. For example, “I scored 90% on my exam.” The goal description describes what the goal is. For example, “I will pass my exam.”

I am not sure if I submitted goals for the current performance year. How do I check, to see if I have goals in the MyHR system?

To see if you have goals in the MyHR system, navigate to About Me, Career & Performance, and Goals. Select the current year for the Review Period and Goal Plan.

I have goals in the system; however, the Goals screen has a message that says “Approval in progress. See how it’s going.”  And, my goals do not appear in the Performance Review self-review documents. What does this mean?

Your Goals screen will have that message if your goals were submitted but not yet approved by your manager. Follow these steps:

How do I know if my manager has approved my goals?

Once goals have been approved by your manager, you will receive an email confirmation. When you log in to the system to view your goals, they will no longer be listed as Pending.

I have goals in the system, and they have been approved by my manager; however, they are not appearing in my Performance Review document.

You may need to manually import your goals into your performance review document.

How do I edit goals after they’ve been submitted and/or approved?

After the goals have been submitted for approval, they will be in read only mode until your manager either approves or rejects the goal. After goals have been approved or rejected, you will be able to edit the goal. If you are editing the goal name, goal description, or success criteria fields, you will need to submit them for approval again.

I went to start my self-review, but I realized I did not enter goals in the system last fall. Can I still enter them?

During the Self-Review phase of the Performance Review, you can still enter goals into the system. They will need to be approved by your manager, and then you must import them into your Performance Review documents. Follow These steps:

I mistakenly submitted my self-review to my supervisor prematurely. I would like to get it back and make additional edits. My manager is willing to do this, but we don’t know how.

Your manager can “return” your performance review documents to you by following the Manager Return for Edit steps. Once your manager returns the document to you, you will have the ability to edit your review and re-submit it.

On my self-review, what is the “Questionnaire” section? When I select “Evaluate,” there is nothing there.

The Questionnaire section is optional. As an employee you can recommend to your manager other employees you think could provide feedback on your performance. If your manager requests feedback from others for your performance review, the Questionnaire section will contain this information.

As a manager, can I view my direct report’s previous Performance Reviews?

Yes, you can view previous Performance Reviews for your direct reports. Follow these steps:

  • Navigate to: Team Talent
  • Select the “Performance Overview” icon
  • At the top, choose the “Review Period” you wish you see
  • Under the employee’s name, select the “Performance Documents” you wish to view.

I have an employee who is showing direct reports, all of whom are interns or student workers. As a result, the employee has been assigned the Leadership Performance Review, which I’m not sure is appropriate for the role. Can the review be changed to the Staff Performance Review (for non-managers)?

As the manager, if you feel the Staff Performance Review (as opposed to the Leadership Performance Review) is the better fit, we can make that change. Please email HR@creighton.edu with the name of the employee, and the change can be made at the manager’s request.

I have an employee who started late in the performance year. Are they required to complete a Performance Review?

Our performance year runs from July 1 to June 30. Employees who begin their employment at Creighton between April 1 and June 30 are not required to complete a performance review for the current year.

Are all positions at Creighton eligible to complete a performance review?

The following positions do not complete a performance review in the myHR system:

  • Faculty
  • Residents
  • Temporary Employees
  • Student Employees

I have a direct report who is currently on medical leave and will not return to work prior to the July 31st deadline for submitting performance reviews. How do I proceed?

Employees who are on medical leave do not need to complete a performance review while they are on leave. Thus, the employee would not need to complete the self-review and the manager would not need to complete the manager evaluation at this time. When the employee returns, we do ask that a review be completed within the first 30 days that they are back at work. The performance documents will still be in the system and available at that time.
