Medical Plans available at creighton university

Creighton University offers 3 medical plan options to you and your eligible dependents through UnitedHealthcare.   Each option offers comprehensive benefits to protect you and your family against the medical expenses that would accompany an illness or injury.

Our plan is self-insured, which means UnitedHealthcare administers the payment of claims according to our medical plan benefits. They negotiate rates with hospitals and doctors on your behalf and offer a variety of wellness benefits and resources.

Spousal Surcharge

Effective January 1, 2021, employees’ spouses who have access to affordable health care that meets the Affordable Care Act (ACA) minimum guidelines through another employer will be subject to a $120 monthly surcharge if they choose to have their spouse remain on the Creighton medical plan. The surcharge will be added to the premiums amounts owed upon enrollment to the Plan. This eligibility change will allow Creighton to maintain affordable coverage for its employees, spouses who have no other health coverage choice, and dependent children.

Prescription Drug Coverage

Enrollment in a medical plan automatically gives you prescription drug benefits. Visit myuhc.com and log in to find a pharmacy, search the Prescription Drug List (PDL) or to price your medication. While there are many UHC in-network pharmacies, the CUMC Campus Pharmacy will save you money with preferred co-pays, provide you with outstanding service, and deliver to offices on campus.
